Improving the Practice of Conservation

 

Richard Margoluis

Richard is Co-Director and Co-Founder of FOS.  Richard’s work with FOS centers on assisting partner organizations to develop adaptive management systems, evaluating conservation projects and programs, managing applied research related to M&E, organizing learning networks, and facilitating cross-site and cross-institutional learning – including co-facilitation of the Conservation Measures Partnership (CMP). Prior to co-founding FOS, Richard was the director of the Analysis and Adaptive Management Program and the Latin America and Caribbean Program at the Biodiversity Support Program (BSP) in Washington DC. Before BSP, Richard worked internationally as an assistant director of a biosphere reserve, founder and director of two community-based development organizations, field analyst for a food security information system, and evaluator of post-disaster interventions. Richard holds a Ph.D. in epidemiology from Tulane University, with a M.P.H. in international public health planning and evaluation. He also has a B.A. in Latin American Studies from Northwestern University. Richard is a member of FOS’s Board of Directors as well.
