Description: This “how-to” guidance document provides high-level guidance on designing monitoring and evaluation approaches for conservation projects and programs. It includes many concepts and terminology related to M&E design. We define M&E design as the approach a team takes to structure monitoring and/or evaluation – including sampling methods, use (or not) of controls and comparisons, timing of interventions, and timing of observations.

    Great Manual!

It is logical, practical and cuts through a lot of the vocabulary/technical semantics that can bog down discussions of M&E. It is really a pleasure to work with these materials.

Noting this is a draft, I want to mention two TYPOs I saw:
    – in Table 1, there is a row about “Save the Hammerheads” that seems not to fit.
    – on Box 4, page 12, about more rigorous approach. The fourth bullet should say “high” risk not “low”.

Thanks so much for all your good work.
