A Standard Lexicon for Biodiversity Conservation: Unified Classifications of Threats and Actions

An essential foundation of any science is a standard lexicon. If project teams want to describe and share their work and learn from one another, they need a standard and precise lexicon. This paper presents a unified classification system that draws on separate existing efforts at classification systems. The system is proposed by members of the World Conservation Union (IUCN) and the Conservation Measures Partnership (CMP).
